Kotor | Montenegro

Kotor is a fortified town on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast. Located on a beautiful bay Kotor is a city steeped in tradition and history, with remarkable scenic views.  St Luke’s Church was constructed in 1195 as a Catholic church. The Cathedral of Saint Tryphon is one of two Roman Catholic cathedrals in Montenegro.

Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Following the breakup of Yugoslavia, the republics of Serbia and Montenegro together established a federation known as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which was renamed to the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in 2003. On the basis of an independence referendum held in May 2006, Montenegro declared independence.

The flag of Montenegro was officially adopted on 13 July 2004.

Ostrog Monastery | Montenegro

Ostrog monastery is located at 900 meters above sea level,  carved into the magnificent mountain cliff of Ostrog in central Montenegro. Depending on the weather, the Serbian Orthodox monastery can be in or above the clouds.

The monastery, built in the first half of the 17th century, is the most visited holy place of pilgrimage in Montenegro.
