The flag of Vatican City was adopted on June 7, 1929, the year Pope Pius XI signed the Lateran Treaty with Italy, creating a new independent state governed by the Holy See. The Vatican flag is modeled on the 1808 yellow and white flag of the earlier Papal States.

The flag is probably one of the smallest. With height to width 1:1 it is actually a square. 

World's most dangerous bird | Australia

"He came home crosshatched and bleeding," McColl said. He told her, "'Oh my god, Doon, it was Jurassic Park!" The attacking bird was a Cassowary - an enormous, flightless bird.

What makes them dangerous, are their feet. Three toes sport pointed nails. The most dangerous of which is the middle, which ends in a veritable dagger several inches long. Cassowaries are native to the tropics of Queensland, Australia, and New Guinea.

La Lonja de la Seda | Spain

The Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange in English) is a late Valencian Gothic-style civil building in Valencia, Spain.  This masterpiece of late Gothic architecture was built between 1482 and 1533.

The card shows the Sala de Contratación (Contract or Trading Hall). According to UNESCO it illustrates the power and wealth of a major Mediterranean mercantile city in the 15th and 16th centuries.

La Lonja de la Seda de Valencia is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Moravian Church in Christiansfeld | Denmark

The town of Christiansfeld was founded in 1773 by the Moravian Church and named after the Danish king Christian VII. The church is characterized by simplicity. The large room(the Hall) is the largest church hall in Denmark without supporting beams and can seat approximately a thousand people.

The country is also known as Congo-Brazzaville or ROC. It is bordered by five countries: Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Angolan exclave of Cabinda. The Republic of the Congo gained full independence from France on 15 August 1960.
Kinkala is a town located in the southeastern part of the country.

The national flag of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is in use since 2005, after ratification of the new constitution. It is almost the same as the flag that was in use from 1963 to 1971.

I received this card inside envelop, sent from Burundi. Somehow it was not possible to send it directly.

The equestrian statue of Genghis Khan was built in 2008 on the occasion of the eight-hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Mongolian Empire, in honor of its founder, Genghis Khan.

The largest equestrian statue in the world! The 40 metres high statue stands on a 10-metres high base that is surrounded by 36 columns representing the 36 kings Mongolia experienced during its history.

State Historical and Cultural Park “Ancient Merv” is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Turkmenistan. Merv is the oldest and best-preserved of the oasis-cities along the Silk Route in Central Asia. The remains in this vast oasis span 4,000 years of human history.

One of the medieval monuments that are part of this site is the Mausoleum of Muhammad ibn Zayd.
