Greetings from Budapest, Hungary: Buda Castle

Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary. The imposing Buda Castle overlooks the city from its elevated position atop Várhegy (Castle Hill), rising 48 meters above the Danube river. This was the residence of Hungarian kings. The fortification system and palace, built in the 13th century following the Mongol invasion, was destroyed and rebuilt many times.
