The Old Dispensary | Tanzania

The Old Dispensary is a historical building in Stone Town, the old part of Zanzibar City.

A dispensary is an office in a school, hospital or other organization that dispenses medications and medical supplies. In a traditional dispensary set-up a pharmacist dispenses medication as per prescription or order form. Here you see an illustration of the Old Dispensary.

Palaepaphos (Old Paphos) | Cyprus

Kouklia is a village in the Paphos District, built in the area of "Palaepaphos" (Old Paphos).
In the background you see Panagia Odigitria church, built in the 12th century. All close to the Roman ruins on the edge of the Sanctuary of Aphrodite.

Paphos is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Paphos is a serial archaeological property consisting of three components at two sites:
1 the town of Kato Paphos including the remains of ancient Nea Paphos (Aphrodite’s Sacred City) and of the Kato Paphos necropolis known as Tafoi ton Vasileon (“Tombs of the Kings”)
2 the village of Kouklia includes the remains of the Temple of Aphrodite (Aphrodite’s Sanctuary) and Palaepaphos (Old Paphos).

Keizersgracht Amsterdam | Netherlands

Amsterdam is the most watery city in the world. Its canals and harbours fill a quarter of the city’s surface. The city has more than hundred kilometres of canals, about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges.

The area that is included in UNESCO World Heritage site Seventeenth-Century Canal Ring Area of Amsterdam inside the Singelgracht consits of the Singelgracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht and Herengracht. This card pictures Keizersgracht.

Nijō-jō (Nijo Castle) | Japan

Known as the Kyoto residence of the famous leader Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Edo Period), Nijō Castle is a stronghold that represents the prestige and power of the mighty leader known as the unifier of Japan. The castle dates back to the early 17th century.

Kamigamo Shrine | Japan

Kamigamo Shrine is an important Shinto sanctuary on the banks of the Kamo River in north Kyoto. It is one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan, first founded in 678.

Enryaku-ji Temple | Japan

Located in Kyoto's eastern mountain range on Mount Hieizan, Enryaku-ji is one of the most important monasteries in Japanese history and the headquarters of the Tendai sect of Japanese Buddhism. Enryaku-ji was founded in 788 by Saicho, the monk who introduced Tendai Buddhism from China into Japan.

Ohrid | North Macedonia

Rjukan-Notodden Industrial Heritage Site | Norway

Rjukan-Notodden Industrial Heritage Site is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Located in a dramatic landscape of mountains, waterfalls and river valleys, the site comprises hydroelectric power plants, transmission lines, factories, transport systems and towns. The complex was established by the Norsk-Hydro Company to manufacture artificial fertilizer from nitrogen in the air. Classical Weimar | Germany

Masada | Israel

Masada is an ancient fortification in the Southern District of Israel situated on top of an isolated rock plateau. It is located on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea.

In 66 AD, Masada was a Roman garrison when the Sicarii, a group of Jewish extremists, overcame it and settled there. The Sicarii used Masada as a refuge, and also a base from which they raided the surrounding countryside.

Masada is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
