The Republic of Burundi is a small landlocked country in east central Africa, bordering Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 

 

Bujumbura is the capital and largest city of Burundi. The city is located at the north-eastern corner of Lake Tanganyika. Bujumbura has a population of about 330,000.

Stamps

In 2012 Burundi issued a mini-sheet of stamps with birds on the red list. Hyacinth Macaw and Military Macaw are both endangered species of parrots.
