The Wadden Sea is the
largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world, with
natural processes undisturbed throughout most of the area. Mandø is one of the
Danish Wadden Sea islands. The island has 62 inhabitants.
The Wadden Sea is on the
list of UNESCO World Heritage sites, together with the Dutch and German part.
