The city of Oaxaca de Juarez was founded in 1529 in a small valley on the foothills of the Sierra Madre, Mexico. The Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán was founded by the Dominican Order in 1575.
Historic Centre of Oaxaca and Archaeological Site of Monte Albán is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
