Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage site.The name of the park is originated from the Manas River which passes through the heart of the national park. The Manas sanctuary is home to a great variety of wildlife, including many endangered species, such as the tiger, pygmy hog, Indian rhinoceros and Indian elephant.

Also included in this list of endangerd species is the Golden Langur. One of the most endangered primate species of India.
