Flags of the World | Democratic Republic of the Congo

The national flag of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is in use since 2005, after ratification of the new constitution. It is almost the same as the flag that was in use from 1963 to 1971.
I received this card inside envelop, sent from Burundi. Somehow it was not possible to send it directly.

Takht-i-Bahi | Pakistan

Genghis Khan Statue Complex | Mongolia

The equestrian statue of Genghis Khan was built in 2008 on the occasion of the eight-hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Mongolian Empire, in honor of its founder, Genghis Khan.
The largest equestrian statue in the world! The 40 metres high statue stands on a 10-metres high base that is surrounded by 36 columns representing the 36 kings Mongolia experienced during its history.

Mausoleum of Muhammad ibn Zayd | Turkmenistan

State Historical and Cultural Park “Ancient Merv” is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Turkmenistan. Merv is the oldest and best-preserved of the oasis-cities along the Silk Route in Central Asia. The remains in this vast oasis span 4,000 years of human history.
One of the medieval monuments that are part of this site is the Mausoleum of Muhammad ibn Zayd.

Gammelstad Church Town | Sweden

Gammelstad Church Town is the best preserved example of a type of town that was once widespread throughout northern Scandinavia.
Church Town of Gammelstad, Luleå is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The wooden houses of the church town, huddled around the late 15th-century stone church, were used only on Sundays. Visitors of religious festivals used them as temporary overnight housing. These worshippers from the surrounding countryside, whose journeys home involved travelling long distances under difficult climatic conditions in a harsh natural environment.

The Angolan Civil War was a civil conflict in Angola, beginning in 1975 and continuing, with interludes, until 2002. The war started immediately after Angola became independent from Portugal in November 1975.

Stari Most | Bosnia Herzegovina

Stari Most (literally, "Old Bridge") is a rebuilt 16th-century Ottoman bridge in the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina that crosses the river Neretva and connects the two parts of the city. In the 1990s conflict most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was destroyed.

Sirgenstein Cave | Germany

Modern humans first arrived in Europe 43,000 years ago during the last ice age. One of the areas where they took up residence was the Swabian Jura, a mountain range in southern Germany.
Caves and Ice Age Art in the Swabian Jura is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Excavated from the 1860s, six caves have revealed items dating from 43,000 to 33,000 years ago. Sirgenstein Cave, located in the Ach River valley, is one of three caves that bear evidence of prehistoric human presence.
