The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is an immense expanse of protected highlands, grass and bush lands.

The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The Lerai Forest is situated on the crater floor. The crater floor supports significant populations of all the Big Five.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a Unesco World Heritage site.
