Lofoten Islands | Norway

Postcard
The Lofoten Islands are draped across the turbulent waters of the Norwegian Sea, far above the Arctic Circle. This rare wilderness outpost offers an endless landscape of majestic mountains, deep fjords, squawking seabird colonies and long, surf-swept beaches.

Due to the warm Gulf Stream, Lofoten has a much milder climate than other parts of the world at the same latitude, such as Alaska and Greenland. So winters are mild and the summers relatively cool.
