The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, also known simply as Holy Island, is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England. It is located in the part of England called Northumbria, once a medieval Anglian kingdom.
The island is home to a population of less than 200 and is connected to the mainland by a causeway that is cut off twice a day by the tides. Lindisfarne Castle is a 16th-century castle located on Holy Island, sited atop the volcanic mound known as Beblowe Craig.
