The 75-arched stone aqueduct of Santiago de Querétaro, which crosses over the Pan-American Highway at one point, supplied the city with drinking water well into the 20th century. To this day it still supplies water to the fountains scattered about Querétaro's old city.

Historic Monuments Zone of Querétaro is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
