A postcard from Transnistria | Pridnestrovie

Postcard
Transnistria is a breakaway territory located mostly on a strip of land between the River Dniester and the eastern Moldovan border with Ukraine.

Since its declaration of independence in 1990, and especially after the War of Transnistria in 1992, it is governed as Pridnestrovie, a sovereign state with limited recognition.

The Republic of Moldova does not recognise the secession and considers the territory to be part of Moldova's autonomous region of Stînga Nistrului ("Left Bank of the Dniester").

I suppose that your postcard was sent from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The capital of Transnistria, however, is Bender. I received two written and stamped postcards from there, where the stamps were Transnistrian, too. Look at: http://peterslettercollection.blogspot.hu/2011/09/transnistria.html
There is only one post office in Bender where you can do that (at least you could do 1,5 years ago) and I think I was just lucky that the postcards got through the system and finally I received them 3 weeks later.

It was sent by someone living in the city of Tiraspol. According to 'Wiki' it is "the capital and administrative centre of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria)." The return address was in Tiraspol so im pretty sure it was sent from there. But not sure why the stamp is cancelled in Chisinau. A transnistrian stamp would be nicer so thanks for the tip!
