The Pearl of the Pacific: Bora Bora Island, French Polynesia

Postcard
French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France in the South Pacific. Bora Bora is one the islands that make up French Polynesia. A major international tourist destination, famous for its aqua-centric luxury resorts, located about 265 kilometers northwest of Tahiti.

“A gorgeous island, with lush scenery, stunning lagoons and an idyllic motu, this place is now believed by many to be one of the last tropical paradises on earth.”

Stamp
A 2011 stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Tahitian cultured pearl. In 1961 the activities started to grow cultivated pearls in French Polynesia.

Thx!
