The San Juan Islands are an archipelago between
the North coast of Washington and Vancouver Island (Canada). At mean high
tide, there are over 400 islands and rocks in the archipelago, 128 of which are
named.
The Islands are an important tourist destination. Sea kayaking and orca whale-watching
are two of the primary attractions.
