Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is a town in southern Poland with 4,400 inhabitants. The wife of Mikołaj Zebrzydowski (1553–1620) who was the Voivode (Governor) of Kraków, had a vision of three burning crosses on a nearby hill. At the beginning of the 17th century, in recognition of her vision, her husband built a series of over 40 Baroque churches and chapels dedicated to several faiths.
Kalwaria Zebrzydowska: the Mannerist Architectural and Park Landscape Complex and Pilgrimage Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
