Aletschgletscher | Switzerland
Postcard
With 23 km the Aletsch Glacier is the largest in the Alps. The Aletsch Glacier is – like most glaciers on this world – a retreating glacier. Since 1980 it lost 1.3 kilometres of its length and lost also more than 300 metres (980 ft) of its thickness since 1870.
Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you see a postcard showing the Jungfrau part of this site.
