Mersea Island | United Kindom

Postcard
Mersea Island is the most easterly inhabited island in the UK, situated off the coast of Essex.  It is one of 43 (unbridged) tidal islands which can be accessed by road from the British mainland.

Checking the tide times before visiting Mersea Island is very important as at high tide the causeway onto the island, The Strood, becomes covered in sea water and impassable for a period of time.
