Hampi, a small village in Northern Karnataka, India, was the last capital of the great Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagar. Hampi had very wealthy kings who built many temples and palaces.

Purandara Mantapa is a small open pillared pavilion with whitewashed top dedicated to the legendary poet Purandaradasa who lived in Hampi. Purandara Dasaru was a wealthy merchant of gold, silver and other miscellaneous jewellery from Karnataka, who gave away all his material riches to become a Haridasa (literally meaning a servant of Lord Hari or Lord Krishna).
Group of Monuments at Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
