The card pictures the Church of Peter and Paul in the Grand Peterhof Palace, Upper garden. The Peterhof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, commissioned by Peter the Great as a direct response to the Palace of Versailles by Louis XIV of France.
Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments is a UNESCO World Heritage site. One of the component parts of this site is the Historical Centre of the Town of Peterhof, including the Palace and Park.
Strelninsky Palace, Tsarskoye Selo ("Tsar's Village"), the Pavlovsk Palace, Kronstadt and Yekaterininsky Palace are also part of this site.
