Völklinger Hütte“, founded in 1873, is now the worldwide only remaining ironworks from the iron and steel industry’s heyday. It was closed down in 1986 and today it is a theme park where visitors can explore the former work place of the ironworkers.Völklingen Ironworks is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
