With a population of around 9 million and more than 14 million in the metropolitan area, Tehran is Iran's largest city and urban area, and the largest city in Western Asia.Presidential elections were held in Iran on 19 May 2017. Rouhani was re-elected for a second term. He received about 57% of the votes.
