La Chaux-de-Fonds is a Swiss city
located high in the Jura mountains, a few kilometres south of the French
border.
The city is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site
inscribed under the name “La Chaux-de-Fonds / Le Locle, Watchmaking Town
Planning”. Both towns depend(ed) solely on the watch making industry.
