Kapingamarangi atoll | Micronesia

The Caroline Islands are a widely scattered archipelago of tiny islands in the western Pacific Ocean, to the north of New Guinea. Politically they are divided between the Federated States of Micronesia in the eastern part of the group, and Palau at the extreme western end.

Kapingamarangi is an atoll in the state of Pohnpei of the Federated States of Micronesia. It is by far the most southerly atoll of the Caroline Islands. The island has 500 inhabitants.

The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is an independent sovereign island nation consisting of four states (Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae) that are spread across the Western Pacific Ocean. 
 
The 607-island nation that is the Federated States of Micronesia is one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth. The FSM sits in the heart of the Caroline Islands Archipelago, a vast seascape that extends from Palau in the west to Kiribati in the east.

Island of the Sleeping Lady, Micronesia

Micronesia, also known as the Federated States of Micronesia, is a beautiful island nation in the north-western Pacific Ocean. It is located somewhere between Guam and Hawaii. Meaning "small islands", Micronesia is spread over 3 million miles of the Pacific and includes over 2000 islands. The population is around 90,000.

Kosrae is the second largest island in Micronesia and covers an area of only 110 km2. It is located hundreds of miles from its nearest neighboring island. The island is also known as “Island of the sleeping lady”.
