Malbun is the main holiday resort in the little Principality of Liechtenstein. Malbun is the only resort for skiing in Liechtenstein. It is located at 1,600 metres above sea level in the Alps.

Liechtenstein's flag was officially adopted on June 24, 1937. The golden crown is symbolic of its independence, and its recognition as a principality. The blue and red have been representative of Liechtenstein since it was part of the Holy Roman Empire in the 17th century.

Vaduz Castle | Liechtenstein

Vaduz Castle is the palace and official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. The castle gave its name to the town of Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, which it overlooks from an adjacent hilltop. It is thought that the castle was constructed as a fortress as early as the 12th century.

Vaduz is the capital of the principality of Liechtenstein and the seat of the national parliament. The city has about 5,100 inhabitants but it is not the largest: neighboring Schaan has a larger population.

Liechtenstein is a small landlocked country, bordered by Austria and Switzerland. It is known as a principality as it is a constitutional monarchy headed by a prince.

Prince Hans-Adam II (14 February 1945) and Princess Marie (14 April 1940) are the reigning couple.
